Perilla Leaves Salad


Ingredients
Makes 2 to 4 servings

  • 25 to 30 green perilla leaves (not the purple one)
  • 1 scallion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp hot pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp sesame seed

Method

  1. Soak the leaves in cold water and wash them thoroughly.  Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the scallions, soy sauce, water, vinegar, hot pepper flakes together.
  3. Coat the leaves with soy sauce mixtures evenly.  Refrigerate them for 1 to 2 days.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve with rice.
